How to get Movement in Senior Portraits

We are photographing our senior Jocelyn and showing you guys how we create motion for out senior portraits.

Today we have another behind the scenes video for you because we know how much you all enjoy them. We are photographing our senior Jocelyn and showing you guys how we create motion for out senior portraits. Not only will we show you how but also explain why it is SO important to have movement in your senior portraits. One of the biggest reasons is that is allows your seniors to come out of their shells and put their own personal flare to the images!

Something that is important to keep in mind while create these open ended prompts is that they can be a little scary or intimidating for them. Make sure to get them warmed up before you throw a super open ended prompt at them. Give them a little guidance before totally prompting them to improvise. Start with poses, then slowly ease into prompts that still have guidance but allow them to be THEM! You will see how we do that in the video!

We hope you LOVED getting to see more behind the scenes of this amazing senior! We really encourage you to experiment with your seniors on what is going to allow them to be themselves during their shoot. Try these prompts at your next session! If you want to see more behind the scenes video like this let us know! As always don’t forget to subscribe to our Youtube channel for more!
