In second grade, Cam sported frosted tips and Tia was rarely seen wearing no less than 6 different bright colors (unless of course it was her signature 100% hot pink outfit). The two of us were students at Jonathan Elementary, a spot where sixteen years later Cam proposed to Tia. In September 2016, we were married at Birch Hill Barn on the most perfect fall day. Our childhood friend pronounced us husband and wife, Tia’s grandma was our flower girl (flower crown and all), and we shared our first dance to “First Day of My Life” by Bright Eyes. We now live in the ‘burbs in our new build that we are constantly collecting and decorating with our colorful, midcentury modern style. We spend our time together chasing after our puppy Bella, driving the North Shore with the windows down and Bon Iver blasting, or cuddled on the couch with The Office in the background planning our next adventure.
In second grade, Cam sported frosted tips and Tia was rarely seen wearing no less than 6 different bright colors (unless of course it was her signature 100% hot pink outfit). The two of us were students at Jonathan Elementary. Early on, we got to know each other through the PAC program, a program for academic challenge. While we never quite ran with the same group of friends until high school, our friends almost always overlapped and we stayed in contact through that program. Come high school, all of our best friends became a friend group and Cam and I started dating right before prom our senior year. With three months left in high school, we got serious quick and decided to give it a go. We left for college four hours apart. While our Freshman year was one of our hardest years together, Tia eventually transferred to the U of M and the rest is history.
Cam proposed to Tia back at Jonathan Elementary in 2015. That same year, we bought our first house and painted it yellow. We also adopted Bella two weeks after moving in. In September 2016, we were married at Birch Hill Barn on the most perfect fall day. Our childhood friend pronounced us husband and wife, Tia’s grandma was our flower girl (flower crown and all), and we shared our first dance to “First Day of My Life” by Bright Eyes. As our relationship developed, we quickly found that we are total opposites. Where one person falls short, the other has a strength. Right out of college, we were both working intense jobs that spanned opposite work schedules, so we were rarely able to spend time together. When our business began to take off rapidly, we channeled those opposing strengths and jumped into business ownership together.
When we started our business, we were drowning in emails. We were stressed out constantly and taking it out on each other. We forgot the whole reason why we wanted to leave our 9-5's: for the freedom. Now, we get to truly be our own boss, create a business from the ground up, and have the freedom to travel, spend afternoons cuddling our pup, and create the life that we've dreamed of. Anyone can have this, but not everyone will make it happen. Our goal for C & T photography business coaching is to take our experience, knowledge, and passion for this job and share it with as many photographers as possible! Helping people in the industry is a passion of ours, and we absolutely love to help guide, encourage, and teach people to use photography to their fullest potential! We want to help you create the life you've always dreamed of.
