Chicago Destination Couples Session

We were so excited to photograph this sweet couples session in Chicago. We were in town for another Chicago Destination Couples Session, so it was perfect to squeeze this into the same trip. Unfortunately, the entire day it looked like it was going to storm all night. Even worse, we flew back to Minneapolis the next morning. We just decided to go for it and risk it!  We LOVE when couples are game to make an adventure out of it. In 45 short minutes, we captured SO many images we love. Our absolutely favorites were right at the end of the shoot with the Chicago skyline lit up, the sky on fire, and these two just as happy as clams!

Quite the Adventure

We weren’t kidding about Mitch and Ellie just running with the conditions. They showed up right after work and then the sky was dark and it looked like it was about to burst with rain at any moment. Chaos was on our side. We made our way through Lincoln Park and ended at North Avenue beach. The wind WHIPPED them around. The waves were crashing on the breaker behind us. And yet somehow, there were moments of peace with these two wrapped up in each others’ arms.

As the shoot finished and we prepped to hop in an Uber, Chicago started pouring – like downpour, drench your clothes kind of pouring. Just in time.

We went to high school with Mitch (though we were three years apart) and then we reconnected with him when he was the best man in Cortnie and Alex‘s wedding. We got to meet Ellie at that wedding too! So it was super fun to end the night with drinks, get to hear about their new adventure together in Chicago, and gain two new friends! Take a look at our favorites from the session.
