The Morning After
When we woke up the morning after Cortnie and Alex’s wedding day, we couldn’t imagine getting out of bed. Our muscles ached from running to and from the bridal suites transporting the bridal party under umbrellas to keep them dry amidst the downpour. Cameron had a bruise forming from where he darted to grab a family member and completely wiped out on the pavement. Our voices were hoarse from yelling over the rain pounding on the rooftop as we tried to organize a bridal party of sixteen. And yet we rolled over towards each other and agreed that we wish we could get right out of bed and do it all over again.
Lighting up Legacy Hill
Have you ever met a couple that lights up the entire room? When we met Cortnie and Alex, they were little freshman holding hands as they walked down the school halls. They had goofy grins permanently plastered on their faces. And somehow, nine years from then, they’ve still got those goofy grins on their faces as they nuzzle noses. Or when they catch each other’s eyes from across the dance floor. It’s so clear for anyone to see that they’ve still got the biggest crushes on each other. And because of their everlasting crushes, they truly light up an entire room.
For Cortnie and Alex’s engagement session, it down poured, even ending in a tornado warning. So when rain was on the forecast for their day, we had no worries because we knew they are game for whatever the weather could throw at them. But what we didn’t predict was that when the rain came down and the sky darkened, their indoor ceremony would still be lit with warmth. They would laugh through the ceremony and walk back down the aisle as husband and wife with complete humility, gratefulness, and warmth enough to light up an entire room.
The Legacy Hill Rockstar Team
Of course, none of this magic could have happened without a rockstar vendor team. Ashley Skeie Events and team coordinated a flawless day and even designed the dreamy florals that withstood the crazy weather of the day. Legacy Hill Farm provided the perfect location for the day with spaces to keep the guests dry but still feel the beauty of the venue. The best part? Just as Cortnie and Alex began their first dance, the sun peaked out through the trees to shine onto the dance floor. The golden Minnesota sunset that we know and love shone over Legacy Hill Farm. It was like nature couldn’t help but smile back at a couple who shone so bright.
Thank you
Cortnie and Alex, we love you two so much. We are so thankful to get to serve your kind and poised parents and the rest of your family. So many of them took time to express their gratitude for us on the day and we were blown away by their gratefulness. We feel so lucky to have met every single person in your lively and entertaining bridal party. Not only were they a bunch of fun, but also so kind to get to know us and our hearts. Cortnie and Alex, you inspire us to be a better husband and wife team, crushing on each other every single day. Congratulations, enjoy this newlywed time in your lives!
