North Shore Elopement

Oh, friends, we are so excited to share this Larsmont Cottages on Lake Superior elopement with you. As we reflect back, it’s hard for us to believe that we ever got to be a part of this beautiful, tender day. It was an absolute dream for us in so many ways. We have wanted to photograph an elopement since our very first wedding. Because to us, an elopement epitomizes what we love most about weddings. We love when couples make it entirely their day, personalized and not bound by tradition or norms. So when Danika called us to let us know that they had decided to change their big June wedding to an intimate elopement on the North Shore, we couldn’t have been more ecstatic.

From there, it got even better. Danika and Blake choose Larsmont Cottages for their venue. The two of us have spent a weekend at Larsmont each year for the last four years. We love the adorable cabins on the shore, the community feel, and the vast views of Lake Superior. Then, they booked Anna from Anna Joy Makeup who is an absolute sweetheart and rock star. We also got to meet Brennan Caroline and his sweet girlfriend, Hannah, as they did the videography for the event. So to say that we were looking forward to their day was a complete understatement.

The Most Beautiful Day

February 25^th couldn’t have had more beautiful winter weather in Two Harbors. Fluffy, white snow padded the shore, the sun shone, and the cold breeze lifted Danika’s gorgeous blonde hair for some straight Elsa-from-Frozen-vibes. The North Shore was showing off its beauty. Of course, Danika and Blake are pretty easy on the eyes, as well. But way more important, Danika & Blake have a love so true. As we trudged through the snow in the Minnesota cold, Blake lead her along rocks, kept her warm, and they both kept smiling and enjoying themselves the entire time. They care for each other in an intense, tender way. A way that makes the cold stop freezing your fingers and toes and warms you up from the inside out.

Danika and Blake, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your stunning day. We are so glad that you got a day that was everything and more that you could ever want. It focused on the both of you and your loving hearts. It was truly an honor and we’re so excited for you to see a few of our many favorites!
