We truly feel so lucky to have photographed Elizabeth and Nicolai’s wedding at Windows at Marquette. We met these two at two of their friends’ weddings and we were instantly obsessed. They have such a cute humor together and just fit so well. Earlier this year we got to join them in Chicago for their engagement session and loved getting to hear about their lives in Chicago and planning for their wedding. When their wedding finally came around it was just a party (and basically a reunion with some of Nicolai’s groomsmen that we had photographed their weddings). Enjoy some photos we’ve taken of Elizabeth and Nicolai at past weddings!

Elizabeth and Nicolai had the perfect wedding to round out the New Year. While it wasn’t a traditional snowy December, when we snuck them away after the ceremony for portraits, the tiniest little snowflakes kissed their shoulders and hair. They had a grand ceremony at The Basilica of Saint Mary including a huge portrait of all of their guests on the stairs. Then, everyone joined them for a reception at Windows at Marquette. The holiday decor in the lobby transitioned to an amazing cocktail hour with live illustrations, charcuterie and apps, and a stunning view. The entire venue looks out over downtown Minneapolis. When entering the reception, the fog surrounded the space lighting up oranges and purples into the space. It was drop dead gorgeous. Pair that with the amazing orchid-focused arrangements by Sadies plus the execution by Whitney James Events and you’ve got a winning combination!
