We recently hosted our very first live workshop for photographers in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and it was an absolute blast! If you missed it, don’t worry—we’re here to take you behind the scenes and share all the exciting details.
The Venue: Lab Minneapolis
Our live workshop was held at LAB Mpls, a chic and intimate event space nestled in downtown Minneapolis. The journey to the venue was part of the charm—you enter through a cool alleyway, weaving past various businesses until you arrive at the destination. The space was beautifully decorated by our floral sponsor, Blom Floral, who truly knocked it out of the park with their stunning arrangements.
The Arrival: Mingling and Networking
As attendees arrived, we had a great time mingling and getting to know each other. It was heartwarming to meet most attendees for the first time, although we had a few familiar faces like friends from Book Lovers Club (IFYKYK ;)).
The Workshop: Out-of-the-Box Lead Generation Strategies
Once everyone was settled, we dove into the heart of the workshop. In today’s challenging wedding season, with inquiries down and conversion rates struggling, we focused on out-of-the-box lead generation strategies. We went beyond the usual SEO and social media tactics, exploring deeper, more proactive ways to pursue leads.
Special Guests: Ashley Cook and Allie Lee
To add even more value, we were thrilled to have two special guests join us. Ashley Cook of Ashley Skeie Events, a planner extraordinaire, and Ali Leigh, a powerhouse photographer with an amazing team, shared their invaluable insights and experiences. Their contributions sparked numerous ideas and conversations, making the workshop even that much better!
Hands-On Learning: Practical Takeaways
Our goal was to ensure that attendees left with tangible strategies they could implement immediately. We provided comprehensive lists, swipe copy, and pages of notes. People were snapping photos of slides and taking extensive notes, eager to apply these new strategies to generate unique and high-quality leads.
Fun and Engagement: More Than Just Learning
But it wasn’t all work and no play. We infused the workshop with plenty of laughs, a bit of silliness, and a touch of ‘stalkerness’—if you know, you know! After the formal sessions, we hung out, answered specific questions, and brainstormed new strategies tailored to individual needs.
Looking Ahead: Future Events and Workshops
The success of this live workshop has us SO excited for more. We’re planning a series of future events for photographers in Minneapolis, including co-working sessions, photography fun activities, and more workshops. We can’t wait to continue this journey and create more opportunities for learning, networking, and fun. Stay tuned for more, and thank you to everyone who made our first live workshop such a memorable event!
Finally, a special shout out to all those that made this possible. Thank you to LAB Mpls, Blom Floral, Ashley Cook from Ashley Skeie Events, Ali Leigh, and Lulle Photo & Film!
