Cam’s Nashville Bday Trip

Last week, we got to make a quick trip down to Nashville to celebrate Cameron’s 26th birthday. It was amazing to have basically nothing on our agenda other than seeing the sights and eating good food. And that we did!

All of the Nashville Goodness

Last week, we got to make a quick trip down to Nashville to celebrate Cameron’s 26th birthday. Neither of us had ever been there, so it was amazing to share the trip together.  We had basically nothing on our agenda other than seeing the sights and eating good food. And that we did! We relished in all the Music City, Honky-Tonk, and hot chicken goodness (hot chicken for Cam, Tia thinks pepper is too spicy). By the end of our three days, we had conquered the city. Thanks to a few of our wonderful brides for some rockin’ suggestions. Yes, not only are our brides joyful babes, but also well traveled. Note that these are all just good ole iphone photos.

Our Trip Journal

Day One

We flew in early Wednesday morning. We headed straight to the The Pancake Pantry in the Hillsboro neighborhood for breakfast. Our breakfast was devoured too fast for us to snag a picture, but this was one for the books. After exploring that neighborhood for a bit, we made our way to 12 South. We meandered in and out of all the trendy shops, including Reese Witherspoon’s Draper James.  They serve you sweet tea when you enter. Tia’s favorite shop? Serendipity, which had a mix between Patina and Paper Source gifts and trinkets with trendy, boutique-style clothing. At the end of the 12 South strip, we grabbed Mexican popsicles from Las Paletas. We sat and chatted in the nearby park.

Then, we made our way to our airbnb – which we would definitely recommend if you’re okay with just a room and a shared living area, check out Hope’s adorable place. If you haven’t tried out Airbnb before, use our code and receive a $40 travel credit – boooyah! When we made our way to East Nashville for our airbnb, we had to stop at I Dream of Weenie, a yellow VW truck turned into a gourmet hot dog spot. We finished the night with drinks and Nashville BBQ at Edley’s Bar-b-que. They had a special where bushwackers were half off, which seemed like something maybe native to Nashville and a good deal so of course we gave it a try and dear lord, we’ve never had so many regrets. By far, the strongest drink we’ve ever had and that coffee taste was overpowering. Besides that, Edley’s bbq rocked!

Day Two

We started our second day back in the Hillsboro neighborhood at a cute spot called Fido where Cam grabbed a steak scramble that was to die for. What’s even better than the steak scramble? This place is dog themed – so each of the table buzzers had pictures of different dogs on them and when we’re away from our puppy, Bella, any dog love with satisfy our fix. We spent the rest of the morning exploring more of Hillsboro where we spent time at Altar’d State (did you know they have one at Mall of America now, but it’s originally from down south) and got to see the instagram sensation, Amelia’s Flower Truck.

We also wandered around Belmont University and basked in the beautiful southern college (and the 80 degree weather that Nashville had to offer). Next, we grabbed lunch at Hopdoddy Burger Bar and then walked over to Centennial Park where we got to see the Nashville replica of The Parthenon. After that, we grabbed dinner at Florida Georgia Line House and spent the rest of the night on Broadway enjoying the Vegas-vibes of the south.

Day Three

On our last morning in Nashville, we grabbed breakfast at The Pub in The Gulch and explored that area of town. After that, it was back to the frozen tundra of Minnesota (after a delayed flight and landing in Chicago first when planes weren’t able to land in Minneapolis). Cheers to a fun little adventure in a new city together! Next on our travel adventure: Chicago for a destination engagement session! Want to book a session with us while we are traveling? Reach out to find out our travel schedule and we can set an adventure up!
