Lutsen Resort Wedding on Lake Superior

WOW! This one is something special. The North Shore means so much to Abby and Jared and so it was a no brainer to have their wedding at the gorgeous Lutsen Resort on Lake Superior. With the picturesque red lodge opening up to a private black sand beach, guests could marvel at Lake Superior waves crashing against the rocks and eagles swooping into the bay to catch salmon. Jared and Abby welcomed some guests to Lutsen Resort the day before their wedding with welcome gifts, burgers and brats on the beach, and the most perfect fall weather Minnesota could offer. We are SO glad that they got this day.

The morning of their wedding, Lutsen Resort was surrounded by light fog and forecasts predicted a steady drizzle of rain throughout the day. Now, this is the corniest thing that I could ever write, but I’m doing it, because it’s true: the rain could never dampen Abby & Jared’s day. They held their ceremony outdoors at the perfect beach spot with guests witnessing the cutest, happiest, most emotional and personal ceremony beneath umbrellas. They spent their entire first half of the day outdoors with their rockstar bridal party literally being rained on during all of their photos, but y’all, it’s is freakin epic. These guys’ shoes (and train, and hair, and basically everything) were soaked and will likely have black sand ground into the fabric to remind them of trekking over the dramatic Superior shores rocks, twirling on the beach, and having a grand ole time with their closest peeps.

Abby and Jared, we are SO thankful to get to be a part of your engagement journey from a Grand Marias engagement session to getting to be guests at your rehearsal dinner to the crazy epic-ness of your wedding day – it’s been an amazing ride (12 years in the making)!!! We adore you two!!!
