Lafayette Club Wedding

As you know, we shoot a lot of weddings. And while we are excited for each and every weekend, we were especially excited for Kailey and Charlie’s Lafayette Club Wedding. See, while we do get excited about fun guest experiences, drool-worthy details, and sunset portraits, we were even more excited about just spending the day celebrating Kailey and Charlie. Seriously, we feel blessed to just be in their presence. The two of them are honestly, the sweetest humans on earth. And so when you stick them together, you get this big ole ray of sunshine. Kailey and Charlie’s engagement session was our first session post-lockdown last spring and since our time giggling on their session, we’ve been counting down to their wedding day.

Now, if you need further evidence of how wonderful these two are (before seeing all their pure joy in their photos), take this snippet from their initial inquiry with us, “We’re both pretty similar in personality (easy going), but very different in height (Charlie is 6′ and Kailey is 5′)!” WHAT?! Is your heart melting like ours?!

The Wedding Details

The Lafayette Club, sitting along Lake Minnetonka, is the epitome of class mixed with the beauty of a Minnesota summer. And Kailey and Charlie’s Lafayette Club wedding was exactly this! The whole color palette was on point (and it seemed like Lafayette even coordinated their hanging flower baskets to Kailey & Charlie’s floral ;)). With a rocking dance floor, delicious bundt cakes, HILARIOUS toasts (you’ve got to see the reactions to Kailey & Charlie’s texts being revealed by one of our brides and MOH, Elizabeth and Charlie’s brother Willie’s themed toast) and the cutest trolley transportation, this reception was a hit.

But first, let’s rewind. Kailey and Charlie each got ready at their parents’ homes and if that isn’t the sweetest start to a day, we don’t know what is. They wed at Westwood Community Church, where they called home as a couple. They were surrounded by an amazing crew and their kind families. And they made it official!

Kailey and Charlie – thank you so much for letting us be a small slice of your wedding day. We were so pumped to see your first email land in our inbox and then to come alongside you guys and photograph your joy-filled day. We hope you’re SO enjoying your Hilton Head honeymoon (and maybe some rainy day snuggles ;)) and your new home together! XOXO, we know we’ll see you guys soon!
