Jamaica Destination Wedding
We were so excited to fly down to Jamaica for Hannah and Steven’s destination wedding, we could barely contain ourselves. Through all of the facetime calls and emails, we were ready to capture some island vibes and the anticipation was building (especially after we got 12 inches of snow before leaving Minnesota and then we managed to dodge a huge blizzard while photographing Hannah and Steven’s 85-degree day)!
Hannah and Steven chose to get married in Jamaica because it has become such a special place for them (and Steven’s family). They are frequent visitors of the Riu Palace resort and when deciding that they wanted an easy-going wedding day filled with laughter, this was the perfect fit. Hannah and Steven’s destination wedding day perfectly embodied the Jamaican culture – relaxed, full of beach vibes, and a drink was always in everyone’s hand!
We started the trip by photographing a cocktail hour by the beach where they welcomed their guests as the sun set over the water. Their wedding took place at the newly renovated Hotel Riu Palace Tropical Bay on the coast of Jamaica. It was a gorgeous sunny day (like every single day we were in Jamaica) and they got married on the sandy beach. Hannah wore a printed, boho-feeling dress from The Wedding Shoppe and her sisters stood beside her in a gorgeous slate blue. After a steak dinner, the whole party retreated to the beach to dance in the sand under string lights. The entire day was perfection! Congratulations Hannah and Steven, we are so happy for you two and so thankful that we could join you on this amazing adventure!
