Curating the Magic: Rating the Images
We’ve developed a unique and heartwarming tradition that we share with our couples. It’s called the Same Day Slideshow, and it’s become a powerful and unexpected marketing tool that leaves our couples in awe. Imagine the sheer joy of a couple, immersed in the excitement of their wedding day, suddenly being presented with a beautifully edited selection of images capturing their special moments.
The magic begins even before the ceremony starts. During downtime, when the action is on pause, Cameron has a secret weapon up his sleeve. He dives into his camera and rates the images he thinks would shine in the same day slideshow with a single star. It’s a clever way to curate the perfect moments without having to sift through thousands of photos later.
The Super-Secret Editing Spot
Once the rating is done, we sneak away to our super-secret editing spot, far from the prying eyes of guests, wedding parties, and especially the couple. Cameron sets up his trusty computer and begins the importing process using Canon’s dedicated software. It’s essential to have a dedicated system for this, ensuring we maintain the same quality and consistency our clients expect.
Aftershoot: The Game-Changing Editing Assistant
Next comes the game-changer – Aftershoot. We’re happy to share that we have an affiliate code for a 15% discount (but trust us, it’s worth every penny even without it). Aftershoot is our AI editing assistant, and it’s a lifesaver. No Wi-Fi needed, just pure editing magic. It runs our images through a round of editing using our carefully crafted settings. Editing on the Go: The Loupedeck Advantage
Unfortunately, our super-secret spot didn’t stay secret for long, but no worries! Cameron continued the editing process right in the car using his trusty Loupedeck. If you’re still editing with a mouse and keyboard, you’re missing out! The Loupedeck is a game-changer. It has knobs for every Lightroom setting, making editing a breeze. Twisting knobs is so much more intuitive than clicking and dragging with a mouse. Trust us; it’s a photographer’s dream.
The Big Reveal: Presenting the Same Day Slideshow
With the editing complete, Cameron airdrops the finished and edited photos to an iPad, and we’re ready to reveal the surprise to our wonderful couple. You can feel the anticipation as they finish their dinner, surrounded by their loved ones. When they see their special moments in a slideshow before their eyes, their reactions are priceless. They gasp, smile, and sometimes even shed a tear of joy. Sharing these heartfelt moments with our couples is what makes our job so rewarding.
