Today, we’re hitting you with one of our fast and furious TikTok tutorials. We are showing you how to use text-to-speech. Text to speech is one of TikTok’s accessibility features – if added to any of your videos, it will automatically read out loud any of the texts that’s on the screen. Let’s jump right in!

Pull up a video that you would like to post! You’ll see that I have two separate areas of text that I want to add, one in white and one in red. Text to speech is easy to do when you know where to look for it.

Adding Text to Speech

So what I’m going to do is, I’m going to click on the words I typed on the screen and then click the button that says “text to speech”. You’ll see that he just read that out loud. Now, there are many different options that I can choose with tons of different voices. I’ll show you a few here – there’s calm, or dramatic. There are tons. You can also apply voice to all text in this video. But I actually don’t want to do that, so I’m going to uncheck it, press done, and then go to the other typed phrase and select “text to speech”.

Edit Text to Speech

Now, you can kind of hear there that they are actually going over each other. So for this one, I’m going to choose WACKY as the voice. Then I’m going to hit done. In order for them to not go over each other, I need to change the timing. So I’m going to click on the text again, I’m going to go “set duration”, and you can see that it’s showing me how long it takes for them to say the text on the screen.

You can see down below with the bubbles where it is turning the text to speech. I’m going to adjust it so that it is only reading it when it is on the screen. It doesn’t read them when they are not there. So that’s how I control the duration! When I press check, it’s going to read both of them. I’ll show you here!

Easy Peasy!

There we go! So I’m going to press next and that is how I would post with text to speech. Easy peasy!

Thanks for joining us or this hard hittin’, quick tiktok tutorial. If you need any more tiktok tutorials, we have a full playlist ready to rumble for you that I’ll put up above and it will show up on the screen at the end of the video. Until next time, bye!
