Our Favorite Moment

Oh friends, we are so excited to share this lakeside backyard wedding with you today! The waves from the lake rolled into the beach next to the backyard ceremony. A stunning circular archway handmade by the groom and his brother framed the lake for the guests. Ted stood in front of the archway, waiting for his bride. Sarah independently descended down the hill from the home. The guests stood and turned to watch her stroll through the reception tent, enter the ceremony space, and lock eyes with her groom. The whole experience felt dreamy, like she was floating on a cloud to meet her groom at the archway as the sun shone over the lake. We absolutely loved this moment.

A Stunning Lakeside Backyard Wedding

The wedding took place at the groom’s parents home, a pristine property right on Lake Bavaria. So imagine the sentiment of your parents’ daily life surrounding you but taken to the next level by Joan Nilsen of Ambiente Wedding & Event Planning. The haze of the wildfires to the North provided the perfect mood for an absolutely dreamy day. The reception tent held dark wood farm tables and dusty blue accents with rentals from Apres Event Decor and linens from Linen Effects. From the florals by Martha’s Gardens to the picturesque setting, every single detail of the day felt like it was straight out of a magazine. We were in photographer heaven.

Thankful for Family

At the end of the night, we had a moment to hug Ted’s parents goodbye, and Ted’s mother wrapped us up and just thanked us times a million for serving them that day. We were overwhelmed with her kindness. And that’s just the kind of people both families are. They allow you in to their lives (and home) and share in the big and small moments with you which is exactly why this wedding was so much fun. Both Sarah and Ted’s parents are amazing examples of how to live lives full of gratefulness and kindness. Sarah and Ted, thank you for allowing us to be part of your family for the day.
