When we finalized plans to join Justin and Lauren for an engagement session in their new hometown of Chicago, we were ECSTATIC. Ever since we took the MegaBus down to Chicago so Tia could try out for So You Think You Can Dance seven years ago, we have been dying to get back. What better excuse than an engagement shoot with these two incredible people.
So we made a whole thing of it. We loaded up our car, made a special playlist, and grabbed just a little too much junk food. And while a flat tire on the freeway just outside of the city may have slowed our roll (good pun, Cameron), the trip was magic.
After a week of rain and heavy fog, Chicago saw our early struggles and made things right with a gorgeous night for photos. We met up with Justin and Lauren for a stroll along the Riverwalk for golden hour and a stop at Milton Lee Olive Park for sunset. But as beautiful as the city was, it couldn’t compare to them.
One of the most exciting things to witness in couples our age is the excitement of starting life together, wherever and however they want. We loved seeing Justin and Lauren’s eyes light up as they talked about their life and their new adventures in Chicago.
That love and passion and zeal shined through every part of their shoot. Whether they were whispering compliments, sneaking kisses, or putting all of their love on display, is was so special to be there to capture it in the city they now call home.
We cannot wait for October and are so excited for the two of you to finally say, ‘I do!’
