Next up, getting ready location. Don't let your pre-wedding space be a mere afterthought — you'll be spending a significant portion of your day getting primped and pampered there. The getting ready area should be a special place with plenty of space that makes everyone feel cozy and relaxed. It should also compliment your vision for the day. We’ve put together our top five tips and two frequently asked questions, so let's make your wedding photos beautiful!
Three adjectives to describe Miss Olivia: easy-going, fun-loving, and authentic. Those descriptors just so happen to also be the words we use to describe our ideal Cameron & Tia Senior. And so, Olivia is our first Class of 2018 senior to hit the blog! Woohoo!
Liz and Alex were the first couple that booked their wedding with us. We posted on Facebook that we were offering a deal and we're looking for couples to trust us to capture their big day. Alex + Liz jumped on willingly. Because of them, we are happily serving to-be husbands and wives with excitement and enthusiasm. Without them, who knows what we would be up to.
First up, we’re talking engagement sessions. For us, our engagement session was one of the first events where we felt officially engaged. It’s a fun time that shouldn’t be riddled with stress and instead just an enjoyable process.
These are the type of people that welcome you in with a warm hug and make you feel so at home. Meeting the people that surrounded them on their wedding day, the guests that were eager to cheer them on, and the bridal party that supported and celebrated with them, it couldn't be more clear what wonderful, kind humans they are.
Our session ended with the four of us sitting on the pavilion porch enjoying a beer. We learned the entire story of Danielle and Tyler meeting, about their jobs, and everything in between. As we got in the car to drive home, we basked in the idea that our clients become friends and we get to share in one of the most important days of their lives.
We met Kayla and Dave for coffee and knew we would be a great team. These two are nothing short of amazing and loved getting to be a part of a little slice of their marriage. Congrats Kayla and Dave!
We spent fourteen days in Italy. We flew into Venice, took the train to Cinque Terre, then to Florence. We spent a few days in the Tuscan countryside at San Gimignano and Siena. Then we finished the trip in Rome. There were so many amazing this and we loved each region. It was truly a dream come true and so we wanted to share our adventure with you all!
We constantly tell clients that we want to see how they hug each other, not how we think they should hug. We honestly believe that engagement sessions are supposed to capture our couples being themselves, not a Pinterest version of what we think they should be. Nikki and Jeff were the best example of this. They did not hold back in front of the camera. They were not shy or reserved. From the start, they knew they wanted to be themselves, as authentically as possible, so they went ham.
Be careful not to melt when you see some of these puppy pics, family pics, and romantic couple shots. Leah and Jeremiah are so in love, it overflows. They are a wonderful, kind, and fun-loving couple and we cannot wait to be a part of their wedding day this December!
On Mother’s Day, we offered mini sessions at Kate Becker’s beautiful in-home studio. One of the most special was having Cam’s mom and sister in the studio after Sydney gifted the session to her mom for the special day. Take a peek at this adorable Mother’s Day Mini.
There are few MN locations that can beat Taylor’s Falls. And with Michelle and Jesse as the couple in front of that backdrop? There’s nothing better.
When we walked into LaNetrea and Abduls wedding, we both walked in first-time wedding photographers and left that night with one in the bag! LaNetrea and Abdul threw quite the party, with a lively officiant, an awesome DJ, and a delicious cake! But even more important, these two care for each other with such affection and even with the craziness of a wedding day surrounding them, their portraits were so intimate and loving. Enjoy the fun of our first wedding!
For our engagement sessions, we always try to shoot at the golden hour before sunset. While clouds may have prevent us from getting that extra warm, golden light, (corny alert ahead) Cali and Dave definitely made up for it with their personalities.
Rachel was a stunner in front of our camera last summer. Confident, relaxed, and open to having a good time, she was everything we look for in our seniors. Since her senior year is coming to a close, we wanted to hear from her how to make the best of it.
Don’t think that we only do seniors and couples, we love everything. The crazier, the better. Earlier this year, we did a newborn shoot. Next week, we are shooting friend’s dog. Hit us up if you want to do something crazy!
It’s Mother’s Day! And so, we are celebrating all those fantastic mommas that make it happen. We know your days are full of giving and prioritizing others over yourself. So today, we celebrate you!
They lifted each other up, they tickled, and they loved on each other all night. Plus, we got that gorgeous warm light that we hadn’t seen since the fall.
We're not morning people, so the crack of dawn never feels any better. It hurts, it aches, but it’s all worth it when you get to shoot cuties like these.
You do not need to practice poses, study Pinterest pins, or let the nerves take over. Follow our lead, and by the end of the session, you will be relaxed and most of all, having fun!
The dates are laid out, the senior brochure is updated, and our entire process is revamped to help serve you best. So, today, we are officially opening up our dates for the Class of 2018!
After a week of rain and heavy fog, Chicago saw our early struggles and made things right with a gorgeous night for photos. We met up with Justin and Lauren for a stroll along the Riverwalk for golden hour and a stop at Milton Lee Olive Park for sunset. But as beautiful as the city was, it couldn’t compare to them.
Of all the weddings we have attended, we can’t remember the intricacies of the décor or whether the bridesmaids’ shoes matched. We remember the way the couple made us feel; watching them so in love, swinging each other around on the dance floor. We remember the special moments. Join us in reliving ours.
A collection of some of our favorite shots all rolled into one. Plenty of smoldering looks, sparkling eyes, crazy walking, winks, spinning, and jumping all adding up to the fun that our senior experience encompasses.
